THE PLANNING

Maddy and Devon are two high school sweethearts that we had the pleasure of wedding planning with! The groom is in the military, so they were going through the whole process of planning while also moving their lives across the country. They knew that with all of this going on, they definitely could benefit from having a coordinator for their day!

Kellie took care of the behind the scenes planning, then met with Kayla (and the couple) to go over all the details. Lead planner Kayla then took over the day of coordinating to make sure that everything went according to plan for their beautiful Sunday wedding at Mayowood Stone Barn!

THE MORNING

The RE team showed up bright and early to Mayowood Stone Barn to begin setting up the decor that was provided by the venue and the couple. First, we set up the ceremony site with faux floral balls hanging on shepherd's hooks to line the aisle. Then, we made our way to the main barn to set up the place card table and centerpieces. The place card table consisted of having each guest's name card delicately pinned to a dried orange slice (seriously so cool)!

Meanwhile, the guys were enjoying the groom’s room on site and the ladies were getting their hair and makeup done off site by Roxee Salon. There were also a few family members helping to set up the arch and draping at the ceremony site.

After the ladies arrived at the venue, it was time for the couple to do their first look. This was such a sweet moment, we love both of their reactions! After the couple shared this moment and a few portraits were captured, it was time for RKH Images to round up the entire wedding party for fun group shots. The ladies wore bright colored dresses to match the bold florals, while the guys sported black suits with bold ties/vests to match!

THE CEREMONY

Although the couple was officially married a few months prior to this date, it did not take away from the magic of the ceremony one bit! The ceremony site at Mayowood is beautiful with plenty of tree coverage to help everyone stay cool on the warm summer days. Taking place a little earlier in the day (at 1:00pm) also helped with the heat. The couple did a fisherman's knot for their unity symbol, exchanged some sweet words, and of course shared their long awaited kiss! Positively Charmed did a wonderful job officiating this beautiful ceremony.

THE RECEPTION

The main barn that the RE team spent the morning setting up was absolutely stunning (and all of the guests thought so too)! The centerpieces were simple floral vases from HyVee with table numbers that stuck out nicely inside of them. Each seat also had a sugar cookie that acted as a yummy wedding favor! After grabbing their orange escort card, guests were seated for a delicious buffet provided by Canadian Honker. Since the wedding took place earlier in the day on a Sunday, the couple decided to provide a brunch themed menu (we loved this unique meal idea)!

After food and speeches, the couple cut their cake from La Bamba which looked too good to eat! Then Midwest Sound opened up the dance floor and nobody held back! The fun and rowdy crowd kept the party going until the venue closed at 6:00pm.

Maddy + Devon, you two are such fun and loving people. We are so glad you chose to include Rustic Elegance on your wedding day!

Thank you to RKH Images for sharing these fun photos with us!
